Family Law & Criminal Law Information Clinics

The Six Nations Justice Department offers two legal information clinics in partnership with Legal Aid Ontario. These clinics provide access to legal information, guidance, and support for individuals navigating Family Law and Criminal Law matters.

Family Law Information Clinic (FLIC)

The Family Law Information Clinic (FLIC) provides support and legal information for individuals dealing with family-related legal matters.

FLIC is designed to help people better understand family law processes and available options, while offering guidance in a respectful and supportive environment.

How FLIC Can Help

Through the Family Law Information Clinic, individuals may:

  • Meet with a lawyer to receive general legal advice
  • Get help understanding family court processes and procedures
  • Receive support with reviewing legal documents
  • Obtain assistance with Legal Aid applications
  • Be connected to appropriate legal and community resources

FLIC focuses on helping individuals make informed decisions by improving their understanding of their legal situation and available supports.

Clinic Availability

  • Lawyers are currently available for four (4) hours per week
  • Due to community demand, FLIC is a growing program
  • Plans are in place to expand services to two four-hour clinics per week

Criminal Law Information Clinic (CLIC)

The Criminal Law Information Clinic (CLIC) provides legal information and guidance to individuals who are involved in criminal law matters.

CLIC supports individuals in understanding the criminal justice process and accessing the appropriate legal resources.

How CLIC Can Help

Through the Criminal Law Information Clinic, individuals may:

  • Meet with a lawyer for general legal advice
  • Receive help understanding criminal charges, court procedures, and next steps
  • Get assistance with reviewing legal documents
